- Diploma in Sports Coaching in the relevant discipline from a recognized institute such as: National Sports Institutes under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (Gwalior), Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (Patiala), or a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching (PGDSC) from a UGC-recognized university, or any equivalent qualification.
- Sports achievements such as participation/representation in Olympic, Commonwealth or Asian Games, medal in Senior National Championship, representation at least twice in Junior National/Youth Championship, or participation at least three times in Inter-University / All India Police / Inter-Railway Championships.
