Role and Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager in the Tax team, your role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with teams and clients, with the aim of exceeding client expectations. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Drafting transfer pricing studies to maintain contemporaneous documentation.
  • Preparing and filing accountant’s reports, such as Form 3CEB, which detail cross-border transactions of multinational corporations.
  • Drafting submissions, appeals, and other relevant documents for filing with tax authorities.
  • Conducting benchmarking studies using databases like Prowess and Capitaline.
  • Providing advisory planning memos to clients on maintaining appropriate arm’s length pricing.
  • Representing clients before tax authorities, such as TPOs (Transfer Pricing Officers) and CIT (A) (Commissioner of Income Tax).
  • Assisting in transfer pricing advisory and restructuring assignments.
  • Participating in key transfer pricing planning assignments, including cost allocation, profit planning, shifting to a low-risk model, drafting agreements, and intellectual property restructuring.
  • Advising clients on the applicability of the latest amendments to domestic transfer pricing regulations.
  • Reviewing the accuracy and authenticity of intercompany agreements between subsidiaries.
  • Conducting client visits to understand their business and conducting functional interviews.
  • Sharing knowledge on various transfer pricing topics with new employees and freshers through learning sessions.
