DRDO Recruitment 2024: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is inviting offline applications from talented and qualified candidates for the positions of Research Associate (RA) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in various fields. According to the official DRDO Recruitment 2024 notification, the maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years for the Research Associate position and 28 years for the Junior Research Fellow role. There is a relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates in accordance with Government of India guidelines.

Eligible candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree for the Research Associate role and a B.E./B.Tech. degree for the Junior Research Fellow position from a recognized university (details below). DRDO Recruitment 2024 Tenure

The engagement duration for positions in the DRDO Recruitment 2024 is outlined as follows:

• For Research Associate (RA): Candidates will be appointed on a temporary basis for a duration of two (2) years.
• For Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Candidates will also be appointed temporarily, initially for two (2) years. The fellowship may be upgraded to a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) after the initial two years, extending for an additional year (the third year). The SRF may be further extended for one more year (the fourth year) based on performance evaluation.

DRDO Recruitment 2024 Education Qualification

Research Associate (RA-01):

• Ph.D. in Physics, Laser Physics, Applied Physics, Photonics, Electro-Optics, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, or related fields.
• OR
• First Class M.Sc. in Physics, Laser Physics, Atomic Physics, Photonics, Electro-Optics, Digital Signal Processing, or Image Processing, along with 4 years of research experience in the relevant area and at least 1 research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
• OR
• First Class M.Tech. in Physics, Laser Physics, Atomic Physics, Applied Optics, Electro-Optics, Digital Signal Processing, or Image Processing, with 3 years of research experience in the relevant field and at least 1 research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Research Associate (RA-02):

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent, specializing in Deep Learning or Machine Learning.
• OR
• First Class M.Sc. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with 4 years of research experience in Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning, and at least 1 research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
• OR
• First Class M.Tech. in Computer Science Engineering with 3 years of research experience in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence, and at least 1 research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Research Associate (RA-03):

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering, with research work in design, fabrication, classical stress analysis, and FEA.
• OR
• First Class M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with 4 years of research experience in design, fabrication, classical stress analysis, and FEA, and at least 1 research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
• OR
• First Class M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering with 3 years of research experience in design, fabrication, classical stress analysis, and FEA, and at least 1 research paper in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF):

• First Class B.E./B.Tech. degree or equivalent (as per AICTE) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Metallurgy Engineering, along with a valid GATE Score (3 Years).
• OR
• First Class B.E./B.Tech. degree or equivalent (as per AICTE) in the aforementioned fields with an M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant area.
• OR
• First Class M.Sc. degree in Chemistry or Physics with a valid NET/GATE (3 Years)/SLET.

DRDO Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

• JRF: Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2024 will be chosen based on their performance in a written test or interview conducted as part of the DRDO Recruitment process.
• RA: For the Research Associate position, the selection procedure involves reviewing the applicants’ details and the relevance of their research work experience or PhD thesis. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for an interview.
