GATE 2026 Notification: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has released the official GATE 2026 Notification along with the detailed information brochure for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
The GATE 2026 exam will be held on 7th, 8th, 14th, and 15th February 2026 in multiple cities across India. The online application process will start on 28th August 2025 and remain open till 28th September 2025. Candidates can also apply with a late fee till 6th October 2025.
GATE is a national-level exam that provides admission to M.Tech and Ph.D. programs and also helps in recruitment for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). For 2026, the exam will be conducted in 30 papers, with IIT Guwahati as the organizing institute. A new paper on Energy Science (XE-I) has been added this year under the Engineering Sciences category.
