UPTET 2026 Notification: The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released the UPTET 2026 Notification on 20 March 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is required for candidates who want to become teachers for Primary (Class 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8) in government schools of Uttar Pradesh.
The online application process will start from 27 March 2026 and will continue till 26 April 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official websites at https://uptet.upessc.org/otr/info/ or https://upessc.up.gov.in/

UPTET 2026 Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- No upper age limit is specified

UPTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Primary Level (Class 1 to 5):
- 10+2 with at least 50% marks
- Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or equivalent
- Candidates with B.Ed are also eligible as per latest rules
Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8):
- Graduation in any discipline
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification

UPTET 2026 Exam Pattern
The exam has two papers, and candidates can apply for one or both:
Paper 1 (Primary Level):
- Child Development & Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II
- Mathematics
- Environmental Studies
Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level):
- Child Development & Pedagogy
- Language I
- Language II
- Mathematics & Science or Social Studies
Each paper consists of 150 questions carrying 150 marks. There is no negative marking in the exam.
