CPCB Various Posts Recruitment 2026: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has released the recruitment notification for various contractual posts under the “Strengthening of Environmental Regulators (SER)-Phase-III Project” related to the River Ganga. As per Advertisement No. 02/WQM-II/2025-Admin.(R), a total of 51 vacancies are available for posts including Scientist-D, Scientist-C, Scientist-B, Assistant Manager (Finance), Administrative Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Taxonomist, Data Entry Operator, and Field Assistant. Educational Qualification
- Scientist-D: Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy and Environment or Biotechnology. Candidates must also have relevant experience in prevention, control and abatement of river or industrial pollution, sewage management and environmental management. The candidate should have either a cumulative impact factor of at least 10 from published papers in UGC CARE-listed/Scopus-indexed journals, at least 5 books/edited book chapters published by recognized national or international publishers, or at least 5 technical reports published by CPCB/SPCB. A minimum of 7 years of relevant practical experience is required. Knowledge of environmental norms and data analytics is also required.
- Scientist-C: Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant disciplines. Candidates should have either a cumulative impact factor of at least 7, at least 3 books/edited book chapters, or at least 3 technical reports published by CPCB/SPCB. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in river pollution, industrial pollution, sewage management or environmental management is required. Knowledge of environmental norms and data analytics is desirable.
- Scientist-B: Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant disciplines. Candidates should also have a valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile or be NET-JRF qualified, along with 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant research or teaching experience may also be considered.
- Assistant Manager (Finance): Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Commerce with specialization in Finance & Accounting/Taxation, or be a Chartered Accountant, or have an MBA in Finance & Accounting. A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience is required. Candidates should have experience with computers and office software, advanced spreadsheet/database packages, taxation, Tally and QuickBooks, voucher preparation, online filing of TDS, GST, PF, ESI and STPI returns, and payroll preparation and management.
- Administrative Assistant: Candidates should have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification, along with working knowledge of computers. A First Class Post-Graduation degree and at least 5 years of post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in Government, PSU or autonomous bodies, is desirable. Candidates must also qualify in a skill test based on noting and drafting.
- Scientific Assistant (SA): Candidates should have a First Class Master’s Degree in Environmental Science/Natural Science or a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Environmental, Chemical, Civil, Energy and Environment or Biotechnology. Candidates must have a valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile or be NET-JRF qualified.
- Taxonomist: Candidates should have a First Class M.Sc. degree. A Master’s Degree in Botany or Zoology with at least 75% marks or equivalent is desirable. Candidates should have a valid GATE score with 90% or above percentile or be NET-JRF qualified. In addition, candidates should have either a cumulative impact factor of at least 7, at least 1 published book/edited book chapter, or at least 1 technical report published by CPCB/SPCB.
- Data Entry Operator: Candidates should have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in Science or BCA. Candidates must qualify in a skill test in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). The required typing speed is 45 words per minute in English and 35 words per minute in Hindi on a computer.
- Field Assistant: Candidates should have passed 10+2 in Science with at least 55% marks. Candidates should have knowledge of water/wastewater sampling and sample preservation.
