The results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 were announced on April 16, 2024, with the recommendation of 1,016 candidates for 1,143 available vacancies. Following a request from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) also released a list of 120 candidates from the Consolidated Reserve List on October 25, 2024, to fill the remaining vacancies.
In a significant move to increase transparency, the Commission has now made the scores of non-recommended candidates publicly available. In line with the Government of India’s decision to disclose scores of candidates in recruitment exams, the UPSC introduced a Disclosure Scheme. Under this scheme, the scores and other details of 1,410 candidates who appeared in the final stage of the examination (the Interview) and opted for disclosure are now accessible on the UPSC website.
The released information, which includes scores out of a total of 2,025 marks, will be available for one year from the date of disclosure.
The UPSC clarified that while it is sharing the details of non-recommended candidates from the Civil Services Examination 2023, it assumes no responsibility for how this information is used by any public or private organizations. The move aims to help employers identify potentially good candidates for various roles based on the disclosed scores.
